The Very Best Toffee in the Country! Maxwell's Toffee Test 2012

This year we put out the call for great toffee suggestions and submissions from around the country and received ten amazing toffees to sample. After intense tasting in our offices over two days, everyone voted. It was a close race, but two toffees rose to the top. Read on to see all the entrants and our top picks!

Our Top Picks!

Number one was homemade toffee by Sharlyn Huber of Sabetha, Kansas, which blew the office away.

The rest were all excellent, but we had to let the final voting by ten people tell the story and rank them in this way. Each person got to give each toffee tasted a 1, 2 or a 3, with 1 being the best. At the end we added up all the votes and the one with the lowest number won. Here are the results for 2012:

Looking For the Very Best Toffee in the Country! Year 3

I am on a toffee hunt again (as in 2009 and 2010). As a toffee lover and someone who likes to make it, give it, and get it as a gift during the holidays, I am looking for the very, very best toffees in the country to test and publish here at The Kitchn in December.

Got great toffee? We're looking for this year's winner a shop that makes artisan-quality, incredibly yummy holiday toffee. Or, if you have a perfect recipe for toffee, we'd love that too! Do you have a tip for us? Send it in and get on the site so we can shine a light on you. All info below.

Over the next two weeks we're collecting samples from shops all over the country that would like to be included. Are you a shop or want to tip us off to one? All you need to do is send a toffee sample to us with a note.
