PureBlue UnWine with Wild Blueberry: A Non-Alcoholic Wine Substitute

2013_02_12-unwine.jpgMy partner is allergic to alcohol, but that doesn't mean our wine glasses will be empty this Valentine's Day dinner. Instead of wine, we'll be sipping UnWine, a full-bodied, non-alcoholic juice made from wild blueberries, black currants, and Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

PureBlue UnWine is sweeter than wine, yet the blend of varietal wine grapes, wild Canadian blueberries, and black currants provides more depth and complexity than a typical juice. Non-alcoholic beverages are often sparkling, so it's nice to have this non-fizzy alternative, and an enjoyably tannic one at that. UnWine has no added sugars or preservatives, and the "superfruits" give it high levels of antioxidants (600 mg of polyphenols per serving).

Although there doesn't seem to be an online source for UnWine, we've found it at several Whole Foods stores for about $12 dollars a bottle.
