It's a little early, I know, to be thinking about holiday gifts. But if you want to give a special person a handmade gift created just for them, then you may have to start organizing it now. One thing to consider is commissioning a favorite recipe to be made into original watercolor like the one above from Lucile Prache in Paris, France.
Lucile's one-of-a-kind watercolors are hand painted on fine, 100% cotton paper and measure 11 x 15 inches. They are reasonably priced at $100, plus $10 shipping and need a few weeks' delivery time. They would make a wonderful gift to a friend who has been asking about one of your recipes, or perhaps as a way to memorialize a favorite family dish.
If commissioning an original work of art isn't the way to go, Lucile also has reasonably priced prints of some of her watercolors, all of which deal with food. There are recipes, of course, but also types of fruit, mushrooms, tea settings, food packaging, and various vegetables, like the one illustrated below.
Lucile creates all of her pieces on her kitchen table and she loves to cook, so her enthusiasm for the subject is genuine. Her recipes come in French and English, and she often includes Asian elements as she was heavily influenced by a Chinese calligraphy teacher in art school.
